This is my coursework blog, I will be working alone in this project, at least primarily, though I may require some assistance for the filming of the actual video.
Overall, due to primarily working solo and not having much equipment or props at my disposal, I have decided to work with a relatively simple and basic music video to base my work on. I will choose a video that had a fair amount of success in the sales during its heyday and also a video that is within a generally popular and well known and used genre of music. At least this would be preferable. I also think it would be best to choose a video that still plays with a lot of conventions, whether it conforms or subverts them. For instance, a song like Bom Bom has a lot of close-ups, which conforms to an aspect in Andrew Goodwin's theory of music videos.
The general intention is to produce a music using the inspiration of other music videos to help me, as well as narrative theory, uses on conventions and stereotypes, etc...
